Chef Laura Nelson hails from Massachusetts, taking a circuitous path to return to her home state after 20 years. Her earliest memories of the kitchen are making Joy of Cooking pancakes with her Dad in her childhood home. After graduating from Hamilton College in upstate NY with a BA in Geology, the next obvious step was working in fashion in NYC…haha! The months after 9/11 had her, and many others, asking for a purpose in life. Shortly after, she enrolled in the French Culinary Institute’s Pastry Arts Program in SoHo, NYC. Upon graduation, she secured a coveted position as a Pastry Cook at the Ritz Carlton in Battery Park City. Fast forward through marriage, two children, a move back to MA, discovering she had a wheat allergy (a pastry chef with a wheat allergy, imagine that!) and fascination with healthy home cooking, she spread her wings in the personal chef arena.

Food is her love language.
